Friends of Hamlin Recreation, Inc.


Formed in 2016, The Friends of Hamlin Recreation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non- profit organization dedicated to supporting the Hamlin Recreation Department. We volunteer our time, our ideas, and our skills to raise funds, acquire grants, and in general, try to increase the department’s scope, resources, and volunteer base. Fundraising goals are air conditioning for the Town Hall gym, a sprinkler park, and a bicycle path around the entire Hamlin Town Park. To date, our biggest acquisition is a $15,000 grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeves Foundation which made it possible for us to purchase 8 variously sized youth athletic wheelchairs in order to make recreational programming more accessible for kids who use wheelchairs.
