Scream Fest Trunk or Treat
Help us make Scream Fest even more festive by creating a fun Halloween display for families to enjoy!
We are looking for individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and community groups to participate in our Scream Fest Trunk or Treat. Participants may decorate a vehicle or create a separate display using a tent, table, or other approved setup.
Participation is free for both display participants and event attendees. Participants may distribute prepackaged candy, snacks, small toys, or other approved items. Homemade food or other homemade edible goods may not be distributed, and participants may not charge event attendees a fee for any items or activities.
Event Information
- Date: Saturday, October 10
- Time: 12:00–5:00 PM
- Location: Hamlin Town Park
- Displays must be completely set up and ready for participants by 11:30 AM.
- Participants are expected to remain at their display for the duration of the event.
- If you are bringing a vehicle, your vehicle must remain in place from 12:00–5:00 PM. Once the event begins, vehicles may not enter or travel on the park road due to pedestrian safety concerns.
- Please plan accordingly and arrive with everything you will need for the entire event.
Display Guidelines
Scream Fest is a family-friendly event, so all displays must be appropriate for children and families. Creative, spooky, silly, and festive displays are encouraged!
- Overly graphic, gory, or disturbing displays will not be permitted.
- No weapons or realistic depictions of weapons may be used as part of a display.
- Displays, decorations, activities, and giveaways must be appropriate for a public family event.
- No homemade food or beverages may be distributed.
- Only prepackaged candy, snacks, and approved giveaway items may be distributed.
- Participants may not sell or charge a fee for candy, giveaways, activities, or other items at their display.
- Displays must remain within the designated space provided by the Recreation Department and may not obstruct walkways, roads, or other event areas.
- Participants are responsible for providing and setting up their own decorations, tables, tents, extension cords, giveaways, and other supplies needed for their display.
- Participants are responsible for cleaning up their display area and removing all decorations and materials at the conclusion of the event.
Approval Required
All display ideas must be submitted to and approved by the Recreation Department prior to participation. Please provide a brief description of your planned display when registering. The Recreation Department reserves the right to deny participation or require modifications to any display, decoration, activity, or giveaway that does not meet event guidelines or is determined to be inappropriate or unsafe.
By registering, participants agree to follow all Scream Fest and Recreation Department rules and the direction of event staff.
Have a fun idea? We want to see it! Whether you transform your trunk into a haunted house, create a Halloween-themed game, decorate a tent, or come up with something completely different, we encourage creative and family-friendly ideas.
