AARP Driver Safety - AARP Driver Safety 2 Designed for the mature licensed drivers to learn the newest NYS specific laws, update driving skills, knowledge of age-related physical changes and to adjust driving for these changes. Upon completion participants will receive up to 10% multiyear discount on auto insurance. The DMV may assess up to a 4-point reduction. You will develop a greater appreciation of driving challenges. Must have a NYS driver's License
AARP members should bring their AARP card number.
AARP Members $25 all others $30. CHECKS only payable to AARP.There will be a 30 minute lunch break from 12-12:30 PM. Explore Archery - Explore Archery Level 1 Each week learn archery basics such as range & bow safety, equipment, form, shot execution, and scoring in this 5 week beginner archery program. Archers will earn achievement awards after each session corresponding with the topic of the week.This is an introductory archery course and requires no prior archery experience.This program is run by a USA Archery Certified Level 2 Instructor Keylee Gilfilian and Level 1 Instructor in Training Joshua Girard.
We will be using an indoor range with limited space so please register soon to guarantee your child's space. There are only 6 spots for participants per session. If the program is full please sign up for the waiting list as we may open additional sessions of the program.Please bring a water bottle.In order to register for the Archery League or Level 2 Program, your child must have completed or currently be enrolled in the Explore Archery Level 1 Program or Archery Camp through Hamlin Recreation prior to the first day of the League. We will continue to offer the Beginner Program throughout the year.All necessary equipment will be provided. You are not permitted to bring your own bow to this program due to the introductory level of the course. We will be using Standard USA Archery Recurve Bows and target point arrows.

Baseball "Rookie Rounders" T-ball Fundamentals, Ages 4-7 - T-ball Fundamentals This 6-week program will introduce participants to t-ball fundamentals, while focusing on essential skills including, socialization, consistency, memory, skills development, listening, and more in preparation for the upcoming baseball 2024 season.All Hamlin residents and outside community participants are welcome. Tim Steadman of Kendall High School Varsity Baseball will host this clinic.*UPDATE!*The dates and times of this clinic have been changed from what is listed in our Program GuideClinic runs Saturdays, March 16 to April 20 from 1-2pm @Hamlin Town Hall Gym. Please note that the PM Program ends on 3/25 & does not occur on 1/15, 2/12, & 2/19Children must remove shoes upon entering the gym play area. Please ensure they have socks, preferably ones with grips on the bottom to avoid slipping.Please note that this is not a drop off program and parent supervision is required at all times. Please be respectful of all of our toys and equipment and clean up whatever your child uses.This program does not occur on holidays or during school breaks.

Indoor Gaga Ball - Indoor Gaga Ball Play Gaga Ball for the fun of it! Gaga ball is a fast-paced, high-energy sport played in an octagonal pit. The more players the better! Dubbed a kinder and more accessible version of dodge ball. It combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping while trying to hit opponents below the knees. Players need to keep moving to avoid getting hit by the ball. It's fun and easy, and everyone gets a serious workout. This is a six-week program where participants will compete in weekly games and events. Rec staff will monitor the games.Please pack a water bottle and have your child wear sneakers.

Hamlin Youth Group - Youth Group Membership 2024 Title: The youth group that will be directed by Hamlin Recreation will be called The Hamlin Youth Volunteer Force.Mission Statement: The Hamlin Youth Volunteer Force is a youth group that seeks to understand, encourage, and empower young people grades 6th through 12th on their journey to become a healthy, caring, and responsible young adult.Our Goal: Our goal is to make Hamlin a healthier and safer community in which to live, enjoy, and develop in. The Hamlin Youth Volunteer Force will help young people foster their personal and social development and assist in giving them the tools necessary to contribute to their community.Objectives:
To provide a range of opportunities which will enable young people to attain the 40 developmental assets and to cultivate understanding and skills, that will allow them to:
Socialize and have fun with others in a safe environment
Provide opportunities for young people to meet and learn from each other
Build their assets on the way towards broadening their horizons
Create a positive image of youth in our community.
To encourage community youth involvement and identity.
To recruit and establish new youth leaders to support the activities of the Youth Group.
Membership:The Hamlin Youth Group membership is open to all youth grades 6th through 12th. There is no cost for the youth members.Meetings: The Hamlin Youth Volunteer Force meets on a monthly basis with a meeting date and time that is flexible to suit participants.Events: Each month the youth will help plan an event that will promote socialization. An event can include, but is not limited to, trips, dances, and other activities.Community Service Projects: The Hamlin Youth Volunteer Force service projects will be undertaken on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. Fund Raising: The Hamlin Youth Volunteer Force members will work on raising money and materials for the Group and other in-need organizations.*Parents and guardians may be responsible for transportation to the Town Hall and other local places.Disciplinary Actions:When a serious matter of behavioral issues is raised by a staff member, it will be brought to the immediate attention of the parent or guardian and followed up in writing. The consequences of such issues will be made on a case to case basis.Consent:
a) To participate in The Hamlin Youth Volunteer Force, a membership form must be completed and include parental consent (if under age 18). This form is to be filed with the Recreation Department.
b) In order to attend any Community Service Project or Social Event outside the premises of Town Hall and park, the participant will need to have parental consent on file with the Recreation Department, by the stated deadline.
c) For projects, events, or meetings within the Town Hall and park, registration is required by the stated deadline.
